Layton Police Seek Suspect in Violent Gas Station Attack on Man Walking Dogs
Layton, UT — Authorities are actively searching for a dangerous suspect following a sudden and brutal assault on a man walking his dogs outside a Chevron gas station on Hill Field Road and Antelope Drive on the evening of April 28. The victim called 911 in a panic, reporting he was being chased and attacked. Lieutenant Clint Bobrowski of the Layton Police Department confirmed that the suspect, described as a man in a green hoodie, approached the victim shouting angrily before launching an unexpected physical assault.

“The victim stated that while walking his dogs, the unknown male was upset and began screaming at him. The suspect then rapidly approached and attacked,” said Lieutenant Bobrowski. During the fight, the victim tried to defend himself and was able to use one of his dogs to bite the attacker.
In a desperate bid for self-defense, the victim reportedly produced a knife, but the suspect wrestled it from his grasp and fled the scene. The stolen knife was taken by the suspect as he disappeared down the street toward the nearby Quail Cove Apartments.
Bobrowski emphasized that this incident is highly unusual for the Layton community, describing it as “an isolated event” and reassuring the public that there is no ongoing threat to neighborhood safety.
