UPDATE: The Colorado Buffaloes are grappling with significant injury concerns just days ahead of their crucial matchup against Arizona State this Saturday at 6 p.m. (local time) at Folsom Field. Jordan Seaton, the team’s standout left tackle, is now questionable to play due to a lower leg injury, raising alarms among fans and coaches alike.
The Big 12 Conference released its first player availability report on Wednesday night, revealing that Seaton may miss his second consecutive game. Meanwhile, safety Ben Finneseth has been officially ruled “out” for the game, adding to the Buffs’ mounting injury woes.
Head coach Deion Sanders expressed his concerns during a press conference, stating, “You hope to get guys back after a bye week, and some of those guys should make it back this week. We have an injury bug for sure.” The Buffs are currently navigating a challenging season, with a total of 16 players listed on the availability report.
Seaton, a sophomore who has started all 22 games of his career, missed the Buffs’ recent 29-22 loss at West Virginia on November 8. In addition to Seaton, right tackle Larry Johnson III is also questionable after sitting out last week’s game.
Finneseth, a former walk-on who has played an essential role this season with 27 tackles across six starts, appeared healthy during media interactions but will not be joining his teammates on Saturday. Cornerback RJ Johnson, along with defensive tackles Amari McNeill and Tawfiq Thomas, are also sidelined, with Johnson having played just one snap in the last seven games.
Only one player, freshman linebacker Mantrez Walker, is currently labeled as “doubtful.” A slew of additional players, including cornerback Makari Vickers and safety Carter Stoutmire, are listed as questionable, intensifying the pressure on the Buffs ahead of this high-stakes encounter.
On the opposing side, Arizona State is also dealing with its own injury issues. Star receiver Jordyn Tyson is classified as “questionable” after missing the last three games due to a hamstring injury but has returned to practice this week.
As fans gear up for the game, the Buffs aim to overcome these setbacks and secure a critical win. The stakes are high, and the community is rallying behind the team as they prepare for what could be a pivotal moment in their season.
