Tigers Secure Fifth Place at Competitive Ridge View Wrestling Tournament

Spencer High School’s wrestling team showcased their talent at the Ridge View Wrestling Tournament on November 22, 2023, finishing in fifth place among 21 competing teams. The tournament, which brought together a diverse group of schools, highlighted the skills of several Spencer wrestlers, culminating in impressive individual performances.

Five athletes from Spencer reached the finals, demonstrating their dedication and skill throughout the competition. Kiara Ruiz emerged as a standout by claiming the individual championship in the 100-pound weight class. Her victory added a significant achievement to her season and showcased her hard work in training.

The Tigers also celebrated strong performances from their runners-up. Madison Stickrod secured second place in the 105-pound category, while Jada Mingus-Alfaro followed closely behind in the 115-pound division. Rylee Nehman and Kyiah Logan rounded out the finalists, finishing second in the 125-pound and 140-pound classes, respectively.

Another notable competitor, Abigail Young, participated in the 170-pound category, contributing to the team’s overall effort but did not finish in the top rankings.
