Wisconsin Woman Killed in Eyota Township Semi Crash, 1 Injured

UPDATE: A tragic two-vehicle collision claimed the life of a woman from La Crosse, Wisconsin, in Eyota Township on Friday, November 21, 2025. The crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. when a 2023 Freightliner semi truck collided with a 2008 Chevrolet Impala at the intersection of County Road 7 and the Interstate 90 eastbound exit ramp.

According to reports from the Minnesota State Patrol, the semi truck was traveling north on County Road 7 when it struck the Impala as it attempted to cross the road. The driver of the Impala, Johnathan Curtis Gerow, 41, of Hayward, Wisconsin, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys for treatment.

Tragically, the passenger of the Impala, a 34-year-old woman from La Crosse, died at the scene. Authorities have confirmed that her name will be released on Saturday night.

The driver of the semi truck, Daniel John Kalwasinski, 37, from Rochester, Minnesota, was unharmed in the incident. Emergency services, including the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Eyota Fire Department, and Eyota Ambulance, responded promptly to the scene.
