URGENT UPDATE: A serious crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 205 near Mountain House has resulted in a full closure of the freeway, creating a significant traffic nightmare in the area. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on October 3, 2023, and authorities are urging drivers to avoid the route as delays are expected to last for hours.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the truck, which was carrying a dangerous mix of gasoline and ethanol, jackknifed and overturned, leading to a hazardous spill. Firefighters from Alameda County successfully contained the leak, which released approximately three gallons of the flammable liquid. Fortunately, the driver was unharmed.
