UPDATE: Major lane closures are set to impact travel on U.S. 422 in Lower Pottsgrove next week as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) continues urgent roadway and bridge reconstruction. Motorists should prepare for significant delays and plan alternate routes starting Monday, November 17, 2023, through Friday, November 21, 2023.
From 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., westbound lanes on U.S. 422 will be closed between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges. Eastbound traffic will also face closures during the same days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., affecting the stretch between Armand Hammer Boulevard and the Sanatoga interchanges.
Additionally, Sanatoga Road remains closed and detoured through Monday, December 1, for the demolition of the westbound bridge over U.S. 422. Travelers are advised to use High Street, Evergreen Road, and Linfield Road as detours.
Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time as backups and delays are expected, especially during peak hours. All construction activities are contingent on weather conditions. This extensive work is part of PennDOT’s ambitious $83.6 million project aimed at reconstructing and enhancing approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway, including bridge replacements between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.
Stay tuned for ongoing updates as this critical infrastructure project progresses. Share this information with fellow travelers to help them prepare for the expected disruptions.
