Staten Island Honors 5 Entrepreneurs at Urgent Empowerment Breakfast

UPDATE: The Staten Island Business Outreach Center (SIBOC) will honor five outstanding local entrepreneurs for their significant community impact at its annual Empowerment Breakfast on Wednesday, November 12, 2023. This urgent event, set to begin at 8:30 a.m. at LiGreci’s Staaten, promises to celebrate business leaders whose dedication and integrity have transformed Staten Island.

This year’s esteemed honorees include:

– **Robert J. Fitzsimmons Jr.**, president of Gateway Arms Realty, who has facilitated property acquisitions for various local nonprofits, improving resources for organizations like Seamen’s Society and St. George Theatre.

– **Laura Volsario**, vice president at Gateway Arms Realty, who spearheads the sales division while actively participating on boards such as the Forest Avenue Business Improvement District.

– **Shawn Stradford**, president and CEO of Stradford Funeral Home and Cremations Inc., has dedicated over 20 years to compassionate service and community initiatives, including clothing drives and school supply donations.

– **Hala Maroc**, founder of Build a Dream Incubator, operates Staten Island’s only co-working space for creatives. With a rich background in multimedia, her work fosters innovation and collaboration among entrepreneurs.

– **Stephen Molloy**, the founder of Molloy Electric Inc., has established a successful MWBE-certified electrical contracting company serving both residential and commercial clients across Staten Island.

Founded in 1980, SIBOC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to empowering local entrepreneurs and enhancing economic vitality. The organization provides vital technical assistance and business development programs, making it a cornerstone of Staten Island’s small business community.
