UPDATE: Pipe & Steel Industrial Fabricators Inc. has just announced a major investment of $5.1 million to expand its steel processing and fabrication facility in Livingston Parish, Louisiana. This urgent initiative aims to significantly increase beam-cutting capacity and boost local manufacturing, with the potential to create 20 new jobs with an average salary of $62,400—139% above the local average.
This expansion, set to begin in January 2026 and target completion by June 2026, follows the company’s previous investment within the last two years. The growth plan not only enhances the company’s capabilities but also positions Louisiana as a competitive player in the industrial sector.
Louisiana Economic Development (LED) estimates that the expansion could result in an additional 36 indirect jobs, bringing the total to 56 potential new positions in the Capital Region. This development comes at a time when the state is actively focusing on revitalizing its manufacturing landscape.
Officials are enthusiastic about the project.
“Pipe and Steel’s continued growth shows the strength of Louisiana’s manufacturing foundation and this administration’s commitment to helping our existing businesses succeed,”
stated Susan B. Bourgeois, LED Secretary. Her remarks highlight the state’s dedication to skilled labor and business infrastructure, emphasizing that Louisiana is well-equipped to embrace the demands of a robust industrial environment.
In a statement regarding the expansion, Kylie Sparks, President and CEO of Pipe and Steel, noted the importance of modernizing their facility. “The people of our parish are key in building the industrial sector in the Gulf Coast region and the state of Louisiana. We intend to facilitate the labor here with the most advanced fabrication methods,” Sparks emphasized, underscoring the expansion’s commitment to safety and efficiency.
Local leaders are equally optimistic.
“Pipe & Steel Industrial has been a great partner in our community, and their decision to expand again shows real confidence in Livingston Parish and our people,”
remarked Randy Delatte, Livingston Parish President. He expressed excitement about the new jobs and opportunities that this expansion will bring, further contributing to the local economy.
To support this growth, the state has extended a competitive incentive package, which includes LED FastStart’s workforce development solutions and a $200,000 Economic Development Access Program (EDAP) grant for infrastructure improvements. The company will also benefit from the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption and High Impact Jobs programs.
