BREAKING: Mary Ann (Godfrey) Allar has passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on October 2, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. Born in Duluth, MN, Mary Ann was treasured for her vibrant spirit and the joy she brought to those around her.
Her happiest years were spent in San Antonio, TX, where she formed lasting friendships and soaked up the sunshine. Mary Ann was well-known for her passion for quilting, creating stunning handmade quilts that she generously gifted to many. Her love for community was evident in her enjoyment of Bingo and watching game shows, alongside cherished moments with her dogs, Skipper and Maggie.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Allar, her parents, William and Clara Godfrey, and several siblings and in-laws. She leaves behind siblings Alice (Daryle) Thompson, Michael Godfrey, and Julie Godfrey, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and the special Quinnell children.
A graveside blessing is set for Monday, November 10, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Oneota Cemetery in Duluth. Following her wishes, part of her remains will stay in Duluth, while the rest will be laid to rest with her husband at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Spooner, WI, on October 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
