Storytelling and Cultural Celebrations
On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, the Lark Theater in Larkspur will host a special event titled “Simply Said,” celebrating one year of personal storytelling. The evening will feature performances by Josh Kornbluth, storyteller Abby Rotstein, host Corey Rosen, and audience members sharing their own tales themed around “scares and boos.” The event begins at 19:00 at 549 Magnolia Avenue, with tickets priced at $27.25 for general admission and $14.75 for students. Theatrical Performances and Live Music
At Archie Williams High School in San Anselmo, the Peregrine Players will present a stage adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s beloved children’s novel, “A Wrinkle in Time.” Performances will run from October 3 to October 7, 2023, with shows starting at 19:00 and an additional matinee at 14:00 on Saturday. On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley will host a release show for “Father’s Daughter,” the new album by local country artist Essence Goldman. The show starts at 19:30 and will feature guest performances by the Jenny Kerr Band, Graham Patzner, the Dogweeds, Jacob Aranda, and Barry Sless. Admission is priced at $26.28. Goldman’s album is deeply personal, exploring themes of grief, healing, and resilience, heavily influenced by her late father. “Music has always been my saving grace,” she stated in a press release. “This record is about grief, healing, resilience and rebirth. I’ve never felt more connected to the music or to myself.”
