Rain Soaks Myrtle Beach Today, Sunshine Returns This Weekend

UPDATE: Rain continues to drench Myrtle Beach, SC today, marking a gloomy end to the work week. However, a beautiful weekend is on the horizon, bringing much-needed relief to residents and visitors.

As of Friday, April 7, 2023, a stalled cold front off the coast is causing persistent showers and steady rainfall this morning. Local authorities advise residents to prepare for wet conditions and ensure children have appropriate rain gear. Although the heaviest rain has passed, widespread showers are expected throughout the day, especially in the morning hours.

Temperatures will be cooler today, hovering in the mid-upper 50s, with some areas nearing 60°F. By this afternoon, rainfall is anticipated to lighten, transitioning to drizzle and mist as clouds linger.

As evening approaches, conditions will remain overcast with light mist and drizzle continuing.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the rain is set to taper off, with drier air moving in overnight. The chance for morning sprinkles on Saturday has been eliminated, although clouds will remain. Expect a breezy day with temperatures reaching the low-mid 60s.

Sunday promises to be the standout day of the weekend, with sunny skies and temperatures hitting the upper 60s at the beaches and lower 70s inland.
