UPDATE: Brookfield has welcomed a new destination for bubble tea lovers with the grand opening of Milk & Manna Boba and Cafe at 3738 Grand Blvd. The café officially opened its doors on January 5, 2023, offering a unique blend of bubble tea, baked goods, and savory snacks.
Owner Joan Ferencz, who has a background in baking and previously ran two other establishments, stated, “It’s just so popular. Everybody likes boba.” She aims to capitalize on the growing demand for bubble tea, also known as boba, a Taiwanese drink renowned for its sweet, chewy tapioca pearls. With flavors ranging from mango to black tea, Milk & Manna is set to be a local favorite.
The café not only serves bubble tea but also locally sourced coffee and freshly baked goods. Ferencz, who moved to the area in 2023, expressed a personal connection to the community, saying, “I feel God sent me here.” Her two children, who attend S. E. Gross Middle School and Brook Park Elementary School, have found a welcoming environment, particularly beneficial for her child with special needs.
During its initial days, Milk & Manna has faced some irregular hours but aims to operate consistently from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. Ferencz is working diligently to finalize the menu, ensuring every item is crafted to perfection.
Inside, customers will find a free play space for children, alongside Wi-Fi for those looking to work or study. Ferencz emphasized her commitment to the community, stating, “Money is not my goal. I feel it’s my ministry: I just want to serve the community.”
The response from Brookfield residents has been overwhelmingly positive, with many locals showing their support. Ferencz recounted, “One tried to fix our broken door for free,” highlighting the community spirit that surrounds her new venture.
As Milk & Manna settles into the Brookfield scene, Ferencz’s vision is clear: to create a hub for the community where families can connect over delicious food and drinks. With a focus on quality and service, she hopes to make Milk & Manna a cherished part of Brookfield life.
