Born on November 2, 1939, in Pittsburgh, Carol was the daughter of the late Rev. William and E. Kathryn Marburger. After graduating from Blue Mountain High School in 1959, she pursued her passion for music at Susquehanna University, earning a degree in music education in 1963.

Her professional journey later took her to Orlando, Florida. After the passing of her husband, Carol returned to Pennsylvania to reconnect with her family and community.
Her deep-rooted faith played a pivotal role in her life. Carol enrolled at the Lutheran Seminary in Philadelphia, where she was commissioned as an Associate in Ministry at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wernersville in 2010. In this capacity, she held multiple roles, including Administrative Assistant, Bell Choir Director, and Parish Education Director.
On May 4, 2025, she was ordained to Word and Service in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), further solidifying her commitment to her community. Carol’s passion for music and ministry led her to establish the church’s bell choir, a contribution that will be long remembered by her church family.
Carol is survived by her sister, Mary Long, of Wyomissing, and two nephews, Jeffrey and Michael. A memorial service will be held on February 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 130 S. Walnut Street, Wernersville.
