Longmont Man Killed in Tragic Crash on Main Street

BREAKING: A man was tragically struck and killed while crossing Main Street in Longmont, Colorado, on Thursday evening. The incident occurred around 8:50 PM in the 1600 block of Main Street, prompting an immediate response from local authorities.

According to police spokesperson Rogelio Mares, a vehicle traveling south in the outside lane collided with the pedestrian as he crossed the road from east to west. Officers arrived “within seconds” of the crash and provided medical assistance to the victim. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.

The driver, also a Longmont resident, remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation, Mares confirmed. Authorities are currently working to determine the cause of the crash, and as of now, no charges have been filed.

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office is set to release the identity of the deceased man once notification to his family is complete.
