Antioch Police Sergeant Injured in DUI Crash Early Friday

UPDATE: An Antioch police sergeant was injured in a serious crash early Friday morning when a suspected drunk driver collided with a police vehicle. The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. at the intersection of A Street and W. 10th Street, sending both the sergeant and the driver to the hospital.

According to authorities, the driver, a 31-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) and was reportedly speeding at the time of the crash. Both individuals have since been released from the hospital and are expected to make a full recovery.

In a statement, Lt. Joe Njoroge confirmed that officers were already on site due to an earlier crash that occurred around 1 a.m..
