Alaska Airlines Expands Travel Options with Seven New Routes

Travelers will soon benefit from increased access to popular vacation spots as Alaska Airlines introduces seven new routes in its schedule. The updates, set to take effect in mid-June 2024, aim to simplify travel to regions such as the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.

In a recent press release, Alaska Airlines announced that it will expand its service from two key cities: Anchorage, Alaska, and Portland, Oregon. The new routes will include nonstop flights to destinations including Boston, Massachusetts; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and several locations within the state of Washington.

Anchorage will see three new routes connecting it to Boise, Idaho, Boston, and Spokane, Washington. Meanwhile, from Portland, four new routes will be launched to Bellingham, Everett/Paine Field, and Pasco in Washington, along with the service to Jackson Hole.

Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska Airlines, emphasized the importance of these routes, stating, “Anchorage and Portland are essential airports for our guests and for our growing global network. The state of Alaska remains high on travelers’ wish lists, especially in the summer months, and we’re excited to add new nonstops to get them there.”

The new Portland routes will enhance connectivity for travelers, allowing them to link through PDX to more than 65 nonstop destinations, including Hawai‘i and Mexico. The flights from Anchorage to Boise, Boston, and Spokane are set to run from mid-June through mid-August, aligning with peak summer travel seasons.

With these additions, Anchorage will offer a record 17 nonstop destinations in the contiguous United States and Hawai‘i during the summer, reflecting Alaska Airlines’ commitment to expanding its reach and facilitating easier travel options for its customers. This expansion not only enhances travel choices for passengers but also supports the growing demand for summer travel to Alaska and beyond.
