Community Remembers Ronald J. Lentsch, 88, for His Joyful Spirit

Ronald J. Lentsch, aged 88, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025. He was surrounded by his beloved family, including his wife of nearly seventy years, Karen Lentsch, and cherished daughters, Deb and Pattie. His passing marks the end of a life filled with love, laughter, and community.

A Legacy of Family and Joy

Ronald’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family. He is survived by his daughters, Deb (Gary) Weber and Pattie (Scott) Morley, as well as his grandchildren, Michael (Katie) Weber, Geoffrey (Christa) Weber, Christopher (Megan) Morley, and Moira Morley. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, including Griffin, Addison, Connor, Keegan, and newborn twins Rowan and Charlotte. His sister, Diane “Di-Dee” Lentsch, will also deeply miss him.

For over four decades, Ronald was a dedicated employee at the St. Paul Pioneer Press & Dispatch, where he spent 43 years and 6 weeks contributing to the community. After retiring, he and Karen enjoyed summers at the lake, where they created lasting memories with family. Their time was filled with activities such as fishing, pontooning, and simply relaxing on the deck with a cold Pepsi Cola and salted peanuts, watching the sunset.

Community Engagement and Cherished Moments

At home, Ronald embraced a lifestyle rich in relationships and simple pleasures. For 64 years, he shared his life with Karen, developing a routine that included mall-walking at Northtown Mall. There, he greeted new friends with his cheerful singing and endearing sense of humor. Thursdays were reserved for family game nights, where the four Lentsch girls gathered to play Gin and Royal Rummy or enjoyed dining at the local Pizza Ranch, embodying the joy of family togetherness.

Ronald is remembered fondly by his family and friends, who can take comfort knowing he will be reunited with his parents, Joe and Ruth Lentsch, his sister Sharon Opheim, and granddaughter Rachel.

A celebration of Ronald’s life will take place at Kozlak-Radulovich Blaine Chapel, located at 1385 -107th Ave. NE, on Thursday, December 18th, from 11 AM to 2 PM. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite flannel shirts in honor of Ronald, who often sported this beloved attire.
