BREAKING NEWS: Antonino “Tony” Morici, Sr., a beloved figure in the Easton community, has passed away at the age of 78. He died on December 10, 2025, at his home in Palmer Twp., surrounded by family. This loss has left a profound impact on those who knew him, particularly in the local culinary scene where he was the esteemed proprietor of Morici’s Restaurant.
Born on August 23, 1947, in Santo Stefano di Camastra, Sicily, Tony was known for his exceptional cooking skills and his warm, welcoming spirit. He dedicated over five decades to serving delicious Italian meals that brought families together, earning a special place in the hearts of his patrons.
Tony was not only a skilled chef but also a dedicated family man. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Maria (Galati) Morici, along with his three sons: Frank Morici and his wife, Meghan, of Nazareth, PA; Santo Morici and his wife, Ashley, of Gainesville, GA; and Anthony “Nino” Morici, Jr. and his wife, Bobbie, of Palmer Twp. His legacy also includes numerous grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
A devout Catholic, Tony was an active member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church and The Holy Cross Society. His faith played a crucial role in his life, and he cherished his time spent with his family, especially during Italian celebrations filled with homemade wine and traditional dishes.
Calling hours for Tony will take place on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., located at 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA. An additional calling hour will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 8:45 AM to 9:45 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday at 10:30 AM at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, with interment to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
