The Teachers Health Trust (THT) is offering free primary care services, including wellness exams and mammograms, at a series of mobile health care events scheduled for next week in Clark County, Nevada. This initiative, part of the “Medicine on the Move” program, aims to enhance access to essential health services for educators and their dependents.
The upcoming events will take place at three high schools across the Las Vegas valley. On December 16, 2023, the mobile medical center will be at Sunrise Mountain High School from 12:00 to 19:00. Following that, the service will be available at Centennial High School on December 17 and at Liberty High School on December 18, both from 12:00 to 19:00.
At these events, THT members can receive annual wellness exams, mammograms, basic lab tests, and immunizations, all aimed at promoting early detection of health issues. According to Tom Zumtobel, CEO of the Teachers Health Trust, “Wellness exams and mammograms are critically important diagnostic tools to aid in early detection of health concerns, such as high blood pressure and breast cancer.”
This initiative began last month with a successful event at Laughlin High School, where access to health care is often more limited. THT is committed to making health services more convenient for educators throughout Southern Nevada. Educators interested in participating can sign up for appointments through the THT website at www.ththealth.org/calendar.
The Teachers Health Trust was established in October 1983 through a collaboration between the Clark County School District and the Clark County Education Association. It serves as a self-funded, nonprofit health insurance plan designed specifically for educators and their dependents in Clark County. This initiative highlights THT’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the well-being of its members by providing accessible health care options.
As these mobile health care events approach, the Teachers Health Trust continues to emphasize the importance of preventive care and the role it plays in maintaining the health of educators in the community.
