Boulder Opera Company Launches Season with Community Impact

URGENT UPDATE: The Boulder Opera Company has just launched its 2023-2024 season, promising a captivating journey through passion, comedy, and timeless music. This nonprofit organization, founded in 2012, is dedicated to making opera accessible to all and has just kicked off its season with an outdoor event at the Boulder Bandshell.

Earlier this month, audiences gathered for Opera in the Park, a vibrant celebration featuring highlights from some of opera’s most iconic works. Families also enjoyed the warmth of Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love in November, while April 2024 will see the company present Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier, an exploration of love and transformation.

The impact of Boulder Opera extends beyond the stage. Hundreds of residents, particularly from underserved Latino and Hispanic communities, have benefited from free concerts, while thousands of students from Title I schools have been introduced to opera through engaging educational programs. This commitment to community connection is at the heart of Boulder Opera’s mission.

As a nonprofit reliant on donations, Boulder Opera is launching a campaign to raise $12,000 in unrestricted funds. These funds will support artist pay, expand bilingual programming, and enhance community access for the upcoming 2026 season. Their call to action is clear: “It only takes a little to make a big impact.”
