Amazon’s Prime Video Expands Offerings with M6+ and RTVE Channels

Amazon’s Prime Video has made significant strides in Europe by securing content agreements to provide free access to M6+, a streaming service from the M6 Group in France, and live channels from RTVE, the national public broadcaster in Spain. These deals, announced on Wednesday, enhance the streaming service’s appeal and broaden its content offerings for Prime members in these countries.

Beginning immediately, Prime members in France can enjoy more than 30,000 hours of content through M6+. This streaming service includes programming from popular channels such as M6, W9, 6ter, and Gulli, available both live and on demand. Noteworthy titles featured in this agreement include popular shows like Les Traîtres, L’Amour est dans le pré, and Top Chef, as well as major sporting events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the Super Bowl.

Elisabetta Carruba, director of Prime Video channels for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), expressed enthusiasm about the new addition. “We are very pleased to welcome M6’s quality programming to Prime Video,” she stated. Carruba emphasized that this partnership is a crucial step toward making Prime Video the leading entertainment destination for viewers.

The chairman of the M6 Group executive board, David Larramendy, noted the strategic importance of the agreement. “This agreement boosts the visibility of our brands and allows us to reach additional audiences,” he said. Larramendy further explained that it enhances accessibility to their content and reflects their commitment to adapting to the evolving streaming landscape.

In Spain, Prime Video has announced a “landmark agreement” with RTVE to distribute its channels at no extra cost to Prime members. Starting immediately, viewers can access live broadcasts from La 1, La 2, Canal 24H, Clan, and Teledeporte. This initiative aims to provide Spanish viewers with a convenient platform to explore RTVE’s diverse programming, which includes sports coverage, news, and popular entertainment shows such as MasterChef and Hasta el fin del mundo.

Carruba highlighted the successful integration of add-on subscriptions across Europe, stating, “We are extremely pleased to expand our collaboration with RTVE through this agreement.” She emphasized the goal of offering customers a more complete entertainment experience and consolidating Prime Video as a top entertainment destination in Spain.

These agreements reflect Amazon’s ongoing strategy to enhance its content library and attract more subscribers in competitive markets like France and Spain. As Prime Video continues to broaden its offerings, both M6 and RTVE stand to benefit from increased visibility and audience engagement through this collaboration, paving the way for future growth in the streaming sector.
