UPDATE: The Windsor Wizards have officially clinched a spot in the state finals after an intense 21-14 victory over the Holy Family Tigers in the Class 3A state tournament semifinals held on Saturday afternoon at H.J. Dudley Field. This win propels the Wizards to a flawless 13-0 record as they prepare to face the second-seeded Pomona (12-1) on Dec. 6, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Canvas Stadium on the Colorado State University campus in Fort Collins.
The Wizards demonstrated resilience, overcoming uncharacteristic mistakes that put their unbeaten streak in jeopardy. With just under 12 minutes remaining in the game, Windsor trailed 14-7 after star senior running back Adrian Czyszczon fumbled the ball, allowing Holy Family to score on a 31-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Kaden Hopkin to sophomore receiver Nick Leopardi.
Holy Family’s defense seemed to stifle Windsor as they forced a quick three-and-out. However, the pivotal moment came when Windsor’s senior linebacker Isaiah Cronk intercepted a pass, shifting momentum back to the Wizards. Cronk’s interception set up a crucial offensive drive that saw Windsor tie the game with a 17-yard option keeper by senior quarterback Mason Moore with just over 10 minutes left on the clock.
With the game tied, Czyszczon redeemed himself by powering through with five consecutive carries, culminating in a game-winning one-yard touchdown run that put Windsor ahead 21-14 with 7:04 remaining. The Wizards’ defense sealed the victory by forcing a turnover on downs with 3:53 left, allowing Windsor to run out the clock on their way to the championship.
This thrilling comeback highlights Windsor’s determination to contend for their fifth state title in program history. Fans are urged to mark their calendars for the upcoming finals against Pomona, as anticipation builds for what promises to be an electrifying showdown.
