URGENT UPDATE: Wilson County residents must adjust their trash disposal plans as the county’s Solid Waste C&D Landfill and all Convenience Centers will close today, Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. This closure, announced by the Wilson County government, is due to mandatory staff training.
Residents are urged to dispose of their waste before noon today. The landfill and centers will remain shut for staff development but are set to reopen promptly the following day. The landfill will resume operations at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, and all Convenience Centers will welcome residents starting at 7:00 a.m.
For those unfamiliar with the locations, the Convenience Centers, numbered 1 through 12, include sites such as 6044 Bottoms Dairy Road in Elm City and 2400 NC 42 Hwy East for site 13. These facilities play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and environmental health of Wilson County, providing essential services for disposing of both household trash and recyclable materials.
Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly and share this news with neighbors to avoid any inconvenience. The Wilson County government is committed to ensuring effective service delivery and appreciates the community’s understanding during this training period.
