Wilding Brands Acquires Upslope Brewing in Major Deal

BREAKING: Wilding Brands has officially acquired Boulder’s Upslope Brewing Co., marking a significant expansion in the Colorado craft beverage landscape. The deal, confirmed today, will relocate Upslope’s production to Wilding’s facility known as “Canworks” in Denver.

This acquisition is part of Wilding’s ambitious strategy to build a diverse family of craft beverage companies while preserving their unique identities. CEO Eric Foster stated, “Since day one, our goal with Wilding has been to create an incredible family of Colorado craft beverage companies that retain their individuality.”

Despite the acquisition, Upslope’s popular taprooms in Boulder and Silverthorne will continue to operate under the previous management, ensuring that customers still enjoy the same local experience. This move reflects Wilding’s commitment to maintaining the essence of the brands it acquires.

Founded last year through a merger of Stem Ciders, Denver Beer Co., and Funkwerks, Wilding Brands has rapidly established itself as a key player in the industry. The company’s leadership includes experienced professionals like Foster, Brad Lincoln, and Charlie Berger, who has a rich history in the brewing sector.

With the Upslope acquisition, Wilding Brands is set to produce around 80,000 barrels annually, positioning itself as Colorado’s second-largest independent craft producer. Notably, Fort Collins-based Odell Brewing Co. leads the pack, producing over 98,000 barrels last year, according to the latest data from the Brewers Association.

The acquisition comes on the heels of Wilding’s previous purchases, including Great Divide in April and Station 26 Brewing Co. in June. These strategic moves underscore Wilding’s rapid growth and its ambition to reshape the craft beverage market in Colorado.

As the landscape of Colorado’s craft beverage industry evolves, all eyes will be on Wilding Brands to see how it integrates Upslope Brewing while continuing to innovate and expand its portfolio.
