UPDATE: The community of Dracut is mourning the unexpected loss of Roland J. Charland, Jr., who passed away on December 30, 2025, at the age of 40. Born on December 16, 1985, Roland is remembered as a devoted son and brother, leaving behind his parents, Roland and Darleen Charland, and his loving brother, Corey Charland.
This sudden tragedy has shocked family and friends, as Roland was actively involved in his community and had a passion for life. He worked for several years as a bus monitor for NRT and previously at Stop & Shop in the produce department. Those who knew him describe him as a caring individual who cherished spending time with family and exploring his culinary interests.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at O’Donnell Funeral Home, located at 276 Pawtucket St., Lowell, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Roland’s passing is felt deeply, particularly by his brother Corey, with whom he shared a unique bond. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who will remember him fondly for his kindness and enthusiasm for life.
Roland was predeceased by his grandparents, Roger and Claire Charland and Phillip and Phyllis O’Brien, as well as his aunt, Colleen O’Brien. His legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
