UPDATE: A suspect has been arrested following a fatal stabbing that left a 35-year-old Moreno Valley man dead in Riverside. John Larry Perryman, aged 34, is in custody after police confirmed his involvement in the violent incident that occurred on December 9, 2023, around 12:20 PM.
The deadly confrontation took place in the 3700 block of University Avenue. Officers from the Riverside Police Department responded swiftly and found the victim, identified as Jullian Hughes, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Tragically, Hughes succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to a nearby hospital.
Authorities launched an intensive search for Perryman, who fled the scene immediately after the stabbing. He was located nearby at the intersection of 14th Street and Segewick Avenue and was subsequently arrested. Perryman has been booked on suspicion of murder and is scheduled to appear in court next week.
