URGENT UPDATE: Sally J. Ifkovits, aged 62, has passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, surrounded by her loving family. Her passing marks a profound loss for the Northampton community and all who knew her.
In a heartfelt tribute, her husband of 37 years, Michael J. Ifkovits, expressed the deep love and joy Sally brought to their family. Known for her dedication, Sally spent over 32 years at People First Federal Credit Union, where she rose from member services manager to card and ATM operations manager.
Sally was born on January 27, 1963, in Allentown, to the late Fred H. and Marion J. (Siegfried) Rex. She was not only a devoted professional but also a cherished family member, particularly to her grandson, Paxton, who was the light of her life.
Surviving Sally are her two sons, Riley (Kelly) and Alex (Anna), along with her brothers Keith and Kevin Rex, sister Susie Weber, and a host of nieces and nephews. Tragically, she was predeceased by her sister, Jane, and niece, Adrienne.
A visitation to honor Sally’s memory will take place on Tuesday, December 2, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Reichel Funeral Home, located at 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Following the visitation, a prayer service will commence at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Northampton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or the Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley, honoring Sally’s legacy and fighting against cancer.
