S.E.S. Member Bada Reveals Heartbreaking Struggles with Poverty

BREAKING: In a shocking revelation, Bada, a member of the legendary K-Pop girl group S.E.S., opened up about her struggles with poverty in a recent episode of Channel A’s Best Friend Documentary: Table for 4, aired on October 20. Her story sheds light on the often unseen challenges faced by idols in the industry.
Bada’s journey began in a financially stable household, thanks to her father’s career as a pansori performer. However, everything changed when her father fell gravely ill and was given just six months to live. The family struggled to afford his expensive medical treatment, ultimately leading them to move to the countryside. In a tragic turn, they fell victim to rental fraud, forcing them into a prefab house.
As the financial burden increased, Bada’s parents discouraged her from pursuing her dream of attending an arts high school. Undeterred, Bada’s father took on night performances to support her education. “Watching him leave the house wearing straw shoes, I made up my mind that I had to succeed,” she recounted emotionally.
Bada’s mother also contributed by working at a hospital cafeteria and later boiling medicinal herbs at a traditional clinic. Their dire circumstances continued until Bada’s big break with S.E.S., the first girl group signed under SM Entertainment.
Reflecting on her past, Bada recalled a poignant memory when the group’s manager mistook her family’s home for a bathroom during a holiday visit. She felt immense guilt knowing her parents had to endure cold showers while she enjoyed warm water at the dormitory.
Today, Bada stands as a symbol of resilience and success. After becoming the leader and main vocalist of S.E.S., she has remained active in the entertainment industry, taking on multiple solo projects and musicals. Now living a comfortable life with her husband and daughter, Bada’s story resonates with many as a powerful testament to perseverance in the face of adversity.
This heartbreaking yet inspiring account not only highlights the darker side of the K-Pop industry but serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by idols to achieve their dreams. Stay tuned for more updates on Bada and the impact of her story on fans worldwide.
