URGENT UPDATE: Ruth E. Gerardi, a beloved community member and advocate, has passed away at the age of 100 on November 9, 2025. Born on December 2, 1924, in Green Island, New York, Ruth’s legacy of service and dedication to her community will be deeply missed.
Ruth Gerardi worked for Trustco Bank in Schenectady for many years and was a dedicated member of the Galway United Methodist Church since 1948. She actively contributed as an officer, choir member, and organizer of numerous fundraisers, showcasing her commitment to the church and the community.
As a charter member of the Galway Lioness and a participant in the Galway Women’s Club, Ruth’s influence extended beyond her church. Her service on the Saratoga County Aging Advisory Council highlighted her dedication to improving the lives of seniors in the area.
Ruth’s family and friends remember her not just for her community involvement but also for her passions, including knitting and traveling. She is survived by her daughter, Sharyn Kalinkewicz (Gary), Goddaughter Pam Neahr (Dave), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who cherished her dearly.
Calling hours are scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., located at 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. The funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, at the Galway United Methodist Church, positioned at 2056 East Street, Galway. Burial will follow at the Galway Village Cemetery.
