Ronald L. Gilbert, 70, of Perry Twp., Passes Away at Penn State Health

URGENT UPDATE: Ronald L. Gilbert, aged 70, of Perry Township, has tragically passed away on October 14, 2025, at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center. This sudden loss has left family and friends in mourning.

Born in Pottsville, Ronald was the beloved husband of the late Cheryl L. (Spence) Gilbert, who predeceased him on October 18, 2010. He was the son of Minerva (Yoder) Gilbert and the late Carlson “Mike” Gilbert, a pillar in his community.

Ronald graduated from Blue Mountain High School in 1973 and later attended Lincoln Tech. He dedicated a significant part of his career as a steel worker for DANA Corporation before retiring. Following his retirement, he worked at various places including Sheetz, Mack Truck for about five years, and most recently as a greeter at Cabela’s.

His passions included hunting, riding his Harley Davidson, hiking, and cherishing moments with his family. An avid fan of Philadelphia sports, especially the Phillies, he also supported the Miami Dolphins. His love for life was evident in his enjoyment of mowing his grass and engaging in outdoor activities.

Ronald is survived by his son, Todd D. Gilbert, and his wife Kayleigh from Viera, FL; his daughter, Jani L. (Gilbert) Milan, and her husband Matthew from Yulee, FL; and three grandchildren: Connor DuCoin, Chayson Gilbert, and McKinley Gilbert. He is also survived by his brothers Carlson G. “Butch” Gilbert, Jr. and Richard C. Gilbert, along with three sisters: Carol (Gilbert) Merbah, Sandra (Gilbert) LaScala, and Donna (Gilbert) Dabashinski, all from Schuylkill Haven.
