UPDATE: A fire in northwest Rochester late Wednesday night has left one person hospitalized with burn injuries. Authorities report that crews were dispatched at approximately 10 p.m. to 3639 Nottingham Dr. NW following reports of flames and smoke.
Upon arrival, the Rochester Fire Department (RFD) found significant fire and smoke emanating from the front of a split-level home. Firefighters quickly assessed the situation, discovering that the blaze was primarily contained to the front entryway but had extended into other areas of the residence.
The fire caused extensive smoke damage throughout the home and specific fire damage to both the front entryway and the living room. One occupant was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys for evaluation of burn injuries, as confirmed by the RFD.
The Rochester Police Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service were also on the scene to assist with the emergency response.
“Our teams worked swiftly to control the fire and ensure everyone’s safety,”
stated a spokesperson from the Rochester Fire Department.
