UPDATE: The City of Moore, Oklahoma has just announced a free Christmas tree pickup service for residents, available now through January 16. This eco-friendly initiative is designed to assist locals in a convenient post-holiday cleanup while promoting responsible recycling practices.
Residents are urged to refrain from placing their trees in polycarts or on curbside, a practice that could lead to cluttered streets. Instead, the city encourages residents to schedule a dedicated pickup through the sanitation department by calling 405-793-5070 or using an online form.
This initiative not only aims to keep Moore tidy but also ensures that the trees are recycled or repurposed effectively. For those who prefer to drop off their trees, the Public Works facility at 512 NW 27th St. will be open on select Fridays: December 26, January 2, January 9, and January 16, from 7 AM to 5 PM. Residents are reminded to bring along an ID or a City of Moore utility bill for verification.
In a recent Facebook post, the City of Moore stated, “Let’s keep Moore clean and green,” emphasizing the importance of community participation in this recycling effort. This program not only simplifies tree disposal but also encourages residents to engage in environmentally responsible practices, fostering a spirit of giving that extends into the new year.
As the holiday season wraps up, Moore’s initiative reflects a growing trend of sustainability and community involvement. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this service to contribute to a cleaner and greener environment.
This is a critical opportunity for residents to ensure their holiday cheer transitions into a responsible and eco-conscious new year. Don’t miss the chance to participate in this important environmental effort!
