Meghan Trainor Claps Back at Critics After 60-Lb Weight Loss

UPDATE: Meghan Trainor is standing strong against criticism following her impressive 60-lb weight loss, revealing the secret behind her transformation in a recent interview. The 31-year-old singer addressed her critics during an interview with Entertainment Tonight on November 13, 2023, sharing that she feels healthier than ever after prioritizing her well-being.

In the interview, Trainor passionately stated, “I’m literally, for the first time ever, after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level. I’ve never felt better and I look incredible, I feel great.” She emphasized her determination to focus on her health despite the scrutiny, saying, “I was like, ‘Wait a second, I’m taking care of myself. You don’t like it?’ So what am I supposed to do?”

Trainor, who welcomed her second child in July 2023, discussed her journey with weight loss and self-care. She revealed that she utilized Mounjaro, a GLP-1 medication, to assist her post-pregnancy. In past discussions, she expressed frustration about media focusing on her body rather than her music, stating, “It was a little bit disheartening that so many of the questions were focused on my body instead of my music, my passion, or the decade of hard work that got me here.”

The singer, who shares sons Riley, 4, and Barry, 2, with husband Daryl Sabara, has been vocal about her commitment to health. In her words, “No, I don’t look like I did 10 years ago. I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me.”

Her candidness continued as she explained her lifestyle changes, including working with a dietician and a trainer, saying, “I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support to help me after my 2nd pregnancy. And I’m so glad I did because I feel great.”

In an earlier episode of the “Workin’ On It” podcast, Trainor and Sabara shared their experiences with Mounjaro, emphasizing their joint commitment to health. “We did 75 Hard after Riley was born and, man, did we crush,” she recalled.

Trainor also shared her initial hesitations, saying, “I was like, ‘I don’t want any of that,’ and ‘I know how to do it on my own.’” However, after consulting her doctor, she felt reassured. “I did the research, and I felt safe,” Trainor affirmed.

Expressing pride in her journey, she stated, “I’m really proud of myself for learning. It was really hard to do and I’m going to keep getting better and keep getting stronger.” She firmly declared that negative comments will not deter her progress: “No one can stop me — not even mean comments.”

As Trainor continues to evolve, her new single “Still Don’t Care” serves as an anthem of self-empowerment and resilience. Fans can expect even more from her as she gears up for the release of her seventh studio album, set for April 2024.
