Los Gatos-Saratoga High Schools Surge Past State Testing Standards

BREAKING: Students in the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District have achieved remarkable success in this year’s state testing, outperforming their peers at both the state and county levels. New reports confirm that nearly 84% of test-takers exceeded state standards in English and language arts, while approximately 68% excelled in math.

This achievement is especially significant as it underscores the academic excellence within the district, ranking No. 1 in California for English and language arts and No. 3 for math. In stark contrast, only 48.8% of students statewide met or exceeded expectations in English, and 37% did so in math.

The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress and the California Science Test were administered to juniors this spring. In science, nearly 60% of students surpassed standards, compared to just 33% statewide.

Superintendent Heath Rocha expressed pride in these results, stating, “These results speak to the dedication and perseverance of our students and staff. While we’re incredibly proud of these achievements, we also recognize that state tests are just one measure of student success.”

The district’s success is not just a statistic; it reflects the hard work and commitment of both students and educators. The implications of this achievement are profound, positioning Los Gatos and Saratoga high schools as leaders in academic performance and setting a standard for excellence in education.

In a related initiative, Los Gatos High School has introduced a bike registration program aimed at enhancing safety on campus. This program ensures that only registered bikes and legal e-bikes can park at the school, effectively limiting illegal e-motorcycles in the area. Students must complete a Bicycle Safety Program before obtaining a parking permit, further promoting safety and responsibility.

As these developments unfold, the Los Gatos-Saratoga community is encouraged to celebrate these academic milestones and prioritize safety measures. Parents, educators, and community members are urged to stay engaged as they continue to support the district’s initiatives and academic excellence.
