Local Hero Lt. Bryan Bradshaw Named Tennessee VFW EMT of the Year

UPDATE: Lt. Bryan Bradshaw has just been honored as the EMT/Paramedic of the Year by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Department of Tennessee. This prestigious award was presented on March 3, 2023, during the VFW Mid-Winter Conference in Manchester, where Bradshaw was recognized for his exceptional dedication to the health and safety of Tennessee residents.

This recognition follows Bradshaw’s previous award from VFW Post 2166, which nominated him for the state-level accolade. His nomination was submitted on December 31, showcasing his commitment to excellence in emergency medical services.

Bradshaw’s journey in emergency medical services began as an EMT-Basic before he advanced to Advanced EMT and ultimately earned his paramedic license. His relentless pursuit of knowledge led him to complete specialized training in ventilator use, enhancing his ability to care for critically ill patients. Most recently, he achieved licensure as a critical care paramedic, equipping him to deliver advanced treatment during emergencies and specialty transports.

The emotional impact of this award resonates deeply within the community, as Bradshaw’s family joined him at the conference to witness his recognition by VFW leaders from across the state. Each year, VFW Post 2166 honors outstanding public servants, including emergency medical technicians, law enforcement officers, and firefighters, emphasizing the crucial roles they play in safeguarding the community.

Bradshaw’s outstanding service exemplifies the dedication and professionalism that emergency responders bring to their roles, making this award not just a personal achievement, but a testament to the collective efforts of all first responders in Tennessee.

As Bradshaw continues his vital work with the Carter County Rescue Squad, his recognition as the Tennessee VFW EMT/Paramedic of the Year serves as an inspiration for others in the field. Expect to see further developments as his story continues to unfold in the community and beyond.
