Free Thanksgiving Meals Available Today Across Bangor Area

BREAKING NEWS: Multiple locations in the Bangor area are offering free Thanksgiving meals today, November 23, 2023, providing a vital service for those in need. Community institutions are stepping up to ensure everyone can enjoy a holiday meal, with options including vegetarian dishes.

Hammond St Congregational Church at 28 High St. opens its doors at noon, serving meals from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Another welcoming spot is the Mansion Church located at 96 Center St., where free meals will be offered between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

In Dexter, Gatherings at 4 Main St. will provide a plant-based meal from noon to 1:30 p.m., while the VFW Post 4298 at 20 Cedar St. serves meals from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Families in Dover-Foxcroft can visit the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church at 824 W. Main St. for meals starting at noon. In Ellsworth, the Conscious Café with Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry at 50 Church St. will serve from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Lynde Lodge in Hermon will provide meals from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Finally, in Old Town, the Christ Church of Faith at 2274 Bennoch Road will be serving at 2 p.m., and the Searsport Apostolic Church at 71 East Main St. will conclude the day with meals at 5 p.m.
