UPDATE: New reports confirm that Chevrolet is ramping up production of U.S.-made vehicles, including several exciting models set to hit the market by 2027. The brand’s flagship models, like the Chevrolet Silverado, continue to dominate sales, trailing only the Ford F-Series, and all Silverado variants are manufactured in the United States.
The Chevrolet Silverado remains a key player, with production taking place at GM’s plants in Fort Wayne, Indiana for the light-duty 1500, and Flint, Michigan, for the heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 models. Notably, the Silverado EV is produced exclusively in Michigan but faces challenges as General Motors recently paused operations at its Factory Zero site, indicating potential job impacts.
Meanwhile, the popular Suburban and Tahoe SUVs are also proudly built in the U.S. at the Arlington Assembly in Texas. Both vehicles share a robust platform with the Silverado, offering spacious interiors and high towing capacities, making them favorites among families and outdoor enthusiasts alike. The Tahoe starts at $62,095, while the Suburban begins at $65,095, providing excellent value for American-made SUVs.
In addition to these models, the Chevrolet Traverse is produced in Lansing, Michigan. This vehicle caters to families seeking a crossover experience with better fuel economy compared to its larger SUV counterparts. At over $20,000 less than the Tahoe, the Traverse offers a competitive option for budget-conscious consumers.
Chevrolet’s Corvette, a symbol of American automotive prowess, is also manufactured in the U.S. at the Bowling Green, Kentucky plant. The facility has become a tourist destination, offering buyers unique experiences, such as the opportunity to assemble their vehicle’s engine at the Performance Build Center.
The Chevrolet Bolt EV, set to return in 2027, will be produced at a new plant in Kansas City. As EV sales have dipped significantly, the Bolt aims to reignite interest in affordable electric vehicles, priced starting at just $28,995. This model will feature updated technology, including GM’s Google-integrated infotainment system and enhanced driver assistance features.
Looking ahead, Chevrolet plans to introduce at least two more American-made models by 2027. A new gas-powered Blazer is expected to roll out of a plant in Tennessee, further solidifying the brand’s commitment to manufacturing in the U.S.
As the automotive landscape shifts, Chevrolet continues to adapt, embracing both traditional gas-powered vehicles and expanding its electric vehicle lineup. With these developments, American consumers can look forward to a wider selection of vehicles built right here at home.
Stay tuned for more updates on Chevrolet’s production plans and model releases as they unfold.
