BREAKING: Arthur John MacNeel, a cherished member of the community and dedicated Registered Nurse, has passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2025, at the age of 71. His family confirmed the news earlier today, marking a profound loss for many who knew him.
Born on October 11, 1954, in Laramie, Wyoming, Arthur devoted his life to caring for others. He transitioned from organic farming to nursing, earning his credentials in 1986. For over 34 years, he served at Dominican Hospital in Soquel, California, before retiring in 2020. His compassionate nature and commitment to patient care left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the countless lives he touched.
Arthur was not only a devoted healthcare professional but also a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Maya DeMontaigu-MacNeel and Orion DeMontaigu-MacNeel, and his only grandchild, Dominic De La Cruz. He also leaves behind his siblings, Adela Klima and Edward MacNeel.
Family members shared fond memories of Arthur, who loved spending time at the family cabin in the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming. He was described as a kind soul, deeply devoted to his family and cherished by friends.
In accordance with his wishes, Arthur’s body will be cremated, facilitated by Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. A private Celebration of Life is scheduled for December 2025, where family and friends will gather to honor his legacy.
