Arlington Police Arrest Suspect in 2021 Murder of Kier Solomon

UPDATE: Arlington Police have made a significant breakthrough in the murder case of transgender woman Kier Solomon, who was tragically killed on September 30, 2021. Detectives have arrested 25-year-old Arthur Morris Jr., currently incarcerated in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for an unrelated offense, and charged him with one count of murder.
Solomon’s life was cut short when officers found her shot in her car at a North Arlington apartment complex. She was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after. The investigation, spanning nearly four years, utilized phone records that revealed Solomon was lured to the location under the guise of a meeting arranged through an app, a tactic later linked to Morris.
This disturbing pattern emerged from the case when another victim reported a similar experience of robbery and aggravated assault just weeks before Solomon’s murder. Detectives worked tirelessly, and by September 2025, they established connections through emails and phone calls that placed Morris at the crime scene “before, during, and after the murder,” according to the Arlington Police Department.
In a statement, Arlington Police Chief Al Jones praised the relentless efforts of his team, saying, “This investigation truly highlights the persistence and dedication of our detectives.” He added, “Sometimes we get that big break in a case right away and other times we don’t. What never changes, though, is our commitment to delivering justice for victims of crime and exhausting every possible lead to achieve that goal.”
Currently, Morris is held at a facility in Childress, Texas, awaiting transfer to Tarrant County for arraignment. The community, mourning Solomon’s violent loss, is beginning to feel a sense of justice as detectives continue their work to ensure accountability.
This ongoing case underscores the importance of vigilance and support for victims of violent crime, particularly within marginalized communities. As the investigation unfolds, the Arlington Police Department remains committed to bringing justice for Kier Solomon and her loved ones.
