The Los Angeles Rams have extended the contract of inside linebacker Nate Landman for three years, as announced by his agency, SportsTrust Advisors, on March 15, 2024. This new agreement is valued at $22.5 million, with $15.67 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Landman initially joined the Rams in March 2023 on a one-year deal during free agency. He quickly made a name for himself by being named a team captain in his first season. In just ten games this season, he has recorded 1.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and a total of 91 tackles, showcasing his significant impact on the field.
Coach Praises Landman’s Competitiveness
Rams head coach Sean McVay expressed his admiration for Landman, highlighting his qualities as a player. “He has great emotional intelligence. He’s a great competitor,” McVay stated. “I think our guys immediately earned the respect, and just the way that he moves. I’ve really enjoyed continuing to get to know him and everything that he’s about. It epitomizes what we want to be about.”
Before joining the Rams, Landman spent three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. Throughout his NFL career, he has accumulated 10 forced fumbles, 3.5 sacks, 1 interception, and a total of 283 tackles. His consistent performance and leadership qualities have proven to be valuable assets for the Rams as they look to strengthen their defense in the coming seasons.
This contract extension reflects the Rams’ commitment to retaining key players who contribute to the team’s success both on and off the field. As the Rams continue their preparations for the upcoming season, Landman’s expanded role is expected to further enhance their defensive strategies.
