Maki Itoh has officially joined the roster of World Wonder Ring Stardom, marking a significant milestone in her wrestling career. The announcement came during a Stardom event at Korakuen Hall on January 10, 2026, where Itoh was unveiled as the mystery woman behind a series of promotional vignettes. Stardom president Taro Okada confirmed the signing, presenting Itoh with an official Stardom tracksuit as a symbol of her new role.
In his announcement, Okada stated, “Today, Stardom has signed a contract with pro wrestler Maki Itoh.” Itoh expressed her excitement at joining the organization after nine years in the wrestling industry, stating, “After 9 years of professional wrestling, this is the first time I’ll be doing it as a part of this organization. I will be joining STARDOM. Nice to meet you!”
Itoh’s debut match is scheduled for January 11, 2026, also at Korakuen Hall. She will team with Saori Anou to face off against Aya Sakura and Sayaka Kurara. This match is highly anticipated by fans, as it marks Itoh’s first official appearance with Stardom.
Previously, Itoh was associated with Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling (TJPW), where she competed from 2016 until her departure in August 2025. Her international experience includes multiple appearances with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) between 2021 and 2023, with her last match occurring on June 14, 2023, in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Itoh has been active in the independent wrestling scene, regularly performing for Game Changer Wrestling (GCW). Her last match with GCW took place on November 22, 2025, during the Dream On pay-per-view event in New Jersey.
The signing of Maki Itoh is seen as a significant enhancement to Stardom’s roster, which continues to grow in prestige and talent. As fans eagerly await her debut, the excitement surrounding her joining the organization highlights the ongoing evolution of women’s professional wrestling in Japan and beyond.
