Chase Briscoe Backs Joe Gibbs Racing for Championship 4 Glory

Chase Briscoe expressed his strong support for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) as the NASCAR Championship 4 race approaches. Following his victory at the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on October 1, 2023, Briscoe qualified for the Championship 4 race. He suggested that it would be exciting to see all three JGR drivers—Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, and himself—compete for the title. With Hamlin already secured in the final round after his win in Las Vegas, Briscoe emphasized the competitive spirit among teammates.

In an interview on the podcast Rubbin’ is Racing with Spider and Large, Briscoe stated, “Hopefully we can get Christopher in there as well. (It’d) be pretty cool if we could have three out of the four.” He explained that racing against teammates would eliminate uncertainties regarding equipment and resources. “Whenever we go to the Championship 4 race and I’m racing three of my teammates, well, I know that we all have the exact same equipment,” he added.

Briscoe noted that competing against fellow JGR drivers would come down to individual performance rather than external factors. He acknowledged that having all JGR cars in the Championship 4 would present a unique challenge. “It just comes down to who can do it the best,” he remarked.

While Briscoe is eager for a JGR sweep, he remained cautious about the competition. He did not express a preference for which other driver should join them, recognizing that any finalist would bring championship-level talent. “I’d be lying if I said I hope a Penske car doesn’t get in,” Briscoe admitted, referencing the impressive performance of Penske Racing in recent years.

The upcoming race at Phoenix presents a formidable challenge, as Briscoe understands that all contenders are elite competitors. “No one gets to this point in the season without being one of those elite guys,” he stated. The stakes are high, and Briscoe is determined to outperform not only his rivals but also his teammates in pursuit of the championship.

As the season approaches its climax, Briscoe’s commitment to excellence and his team’s success reflects the competitive nature of NASCAR. The Championship 4 race is set to take place on November 5, 2023, at Phoenix Raceway, where the battle for the NASCAR championship will unfold. With JGR’s strong lineup and Briscoe’s ambition, fans can anticipate an electrifying showdown.
