Blue Devils Aim for Strong Finish Against Wildcats in Season Finale

The Tift County Blue Devils, with a record of 3-6 overall and 0-4 in Region 1 6A, are gearing up for their final regular season game against the Camden County Wildcats, who hold a record of 5-4 and also 0-4 in the same region. The match is set to take place on October 30, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at Brodie Field.

Coming off a challenging 48-35 loss to Valdosta, the Blue Devils are focused on ending their season positively. In their recent game, Tift initially led with scores of 7-0 and later 14-7 before Valdosta surged ahead. Despite the loss, Head Coach Jeff Littleton expressed optimism about the team’s offensive performance, noting, “We had a couple of long drives over 13 plays. When you’re executing and moving the chains at that rate, it’s really good execution.”

Littleton highlighted the importance of maintaining offensive momentum against Camden’s defense. The Wildcats, despite a strong start to the season, have struggled in regional play, managing only two sacks in their last four games. “They like to bring some edge pressure with their outside backers and mix it up with their inside backers,” Littleton said, stressing the need for his team to control the line of scrimmage.

Turnovers have emerged as another critical area of focus for the Blue Devils. The Wildcats have excelled at forcing turnovers in their region games, tallying five fumbles and one interception. “They’re very athletic on the back end, with their secondary and linebackers getting to the ball fast,” Littleton noted. He emphasized the need for the Blue Devils to secure the football during plays, particularly when exchanging the ball between the quarterback and running back.

While playoff aspirations are not on the line, Littleton is treating this game as if it were a playoff match. “We want to execute and play well in our last game,” he stated. “This is like a playoff game for us. We want to go out on a winning note and build some momentum heading into next season.”

As the Blue Devils prepare to face the Wildcats, both teams are looking to finish the season strong, making this matchup a key highlight in their respective campaigns.
