Celebrating the Life of Pamela Erbeck: A Legacy of Dedication

Pamela Ann Erbeck, a beloved educator and volleyball coach, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 80 after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Her legacy encompasses not only her contributions to education but also her vibrant spirit and dedication to those around her.

A Life of Achievement and Passion

Born on May 2, 1945, in Torrance, California, Pamela led an active and fulfilling life. She pursued higher education at the University of California, Santa Barbara, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. She furthered her studies at California State University, Long Beach, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Sports.

For over 25 years, Pamela dedicated herself to teaching at Inglewood High School, where she instructed students in Physical Education, Mathematics, and Spanish. Her commitment to education was evident in her teaching style, which inspired countless students. As a passionate volleyball coach, she guided the girls’ volleyball team to multiple CIF championships, leaving a profound impact on her students and players.

Adventurous Spirit and Cherished Memories

Even after her retirement, Pamela continued to embrace life with enthusiasm. She traveled extensively across the United States with friends, creating lasting memories and enjoying new experiences. Her adventurous spirit was matched by a deep love for her family and friends, who were central to her life.

Pamela is survived by her sister, Linda Herbert, niece Laurel Tennant, nephew Mark Herbert, as well as her grandnieces and grandnephews, of whom she was immensely proud. Her lifelong friend, Kathleen Behen, also remains to honor her memory.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Pamela’s life at a memorial service on January 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Lighthouse Memorials, Rice Center, in Torrance. Pamela will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but also for her joyous spirit that touched the lives of many.
