The Sunny View Clubhouse celebrated a remarkable year of community service in 2025, achieving significant milestones and receiving generous support from local residents. Located at 95 Coopers Gap Road, the Clubhouse effectively assisted those in need through various initiatives, impacting hundreds of families and individuals across the region.
Throughout the year, the Clubhouse distributed essential relief supplies, which included heaters, generators, basic necessities, and clean water. Notably, during the wildfires that affected the area in March, the Clubhouse ensured that over five fire departments received meals, demonstrating its commitment to community welfare.
Programs Supporting Recovery and Food Security
The Storm Repair Assistance Program emerged as a crucial resource, helping 79 households recover and rebuild after recent storms. This initiative played a vital role in restoring stability to families affected by adverse weather conditions.
From July to December, the Caring Cupboard Food Pantry served individuals 1,183 times, directly aiding 483 families facing food insecurity. Monthly food distributions provided more than 1,200 food boxes to local residents, ensuring that essential supplies reached those who needed them most. Additionally, the Clubhouse’s Hot Meal Thursdays initiative served over 2,000 meals to community members, reinforcing the importance of accessible nutrition.
The Clubhouse also hosted a variety of special events throughout the year. The annual Thanksgiving Feast welcomed over 300 attendees, creating a space for gratitude and community bonding. Furthermore, a Veterans Appreciation event honored 22 veterans and their spouses, acknowledging their dedicated service to the community and country.
Building a Stronger Community
The Annual Christmas House attracted the largest and most diverse crowd in its history, showcasing the growing engagement of the community in the Clubhouse’s initiatives. As the year came to a close, the organization celebrated the completion of five home repair projects through its newly launched Home Repair Assistance Program. This program also included the donation of a camper to a community member in need, further exemplifying the Clubhouse’s commitment to improving lives.
The leadership of the Sunny View Clubhouse expressed deep gratitude to all volunteers, donors, and partners who contributed to its efforts throughout the year. Special recognition was given to the Polk County Community Foundation for its unwavering support, which has been instrumental in enabling the Clubhouse to fulfill its mission.
