The museum emerged from the 1990s demolition crisis, when Housing Commissioner Deverra Beverly collaborated with residents to preserve their history and experiences. The museum features a variety of exhibitions, including “Historic Apartments,” which recreates three homes that reflect the lives of families from the Jane Addams Homes.
