Matt Chapman Named Giants’ Sole Finalist for Silver Slugger Award

The San Francisco Giants announced that third baseman Matt Chapman is their only finalist for the prestigious Silver Slugger award, which recognizes the best offensive players in Major League Baseball. The Silver Slugger award is determined through votes from managers and coaches across the National League, with each team providing four ballots. Chapman is among a competitive field of finalists at third base, which includes Manny Machado of the San Diego Padres, Max Muncy from the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Austin Riley of the Atlanta Braves.

The last player from the Giants to win a Silver Slugger was Buster Posey in 2021, highlighting the rarity of this achievement within the organization. The Louisville Slugger company announced the finalists on Wednesday, with the winner set to be revealed on November 6.
