Families Gather at Zumbro Valley for Festive Christmas Tree Selection

On December 6, 2025, families flocked to Zumbro Valley Christmas Trees to select their perfect holiday tree while enjoying hot cocoa by the fire. The farm, located in the Zumbro Valley region, has established itself as a cherished tradition over the past decade, providing a festive atmosphere for visitors.

Owner Dave Blissenbach shared the inspiration behind the family-run business, attributing it to his uncle, who has cultivated Christmas trees near St. Cloud for more than fifty years. Blissenbach has been actively planting trees at the farm for the last twenty years. With a typical growth period of eight to ten years for trees like Blue Spruce, White Pine, and Scotch Pine, the farm has developed a loyal customer base.

A Community Tradition

“We have a few people who have been with us that whole time,” Blissenbach noted, reflecting on the relationships built over the years. He emphasized the joy of witnessing families return annually, watching their children grow. “Everybody’s always in a good mood when they’re getting a Christmas tree, and it’s just a lot of fun to be a part of that and help them make a memory for their families,” he added.

The atmosphere at Zumbro Valley is filled with laughter and joy, with families enjoying the experience of selecting their trees amidst a backdrop of holiday cheer. Visitors can look forward to the comforting warmth of a fire while sipping hot cocoa, making the outing a festive occasion.
