Sharon Osbourne has shared her first public remarks following the death of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, recounting their poignant final moments together. In an emotional interview with Piers Morgan on his YouTube show, *Uncensored*, she reflected on Ozzy’s determination to perform one last time and the enduring legacy he leaves behind.
A Heartfelt Farewell
During the hour-long discussion, Sharon recalled the intimate exchange shared with Ozzy on the night before his passing on July 22, 2025. “The night before he passed, it was like 4:30, and he said, ‘Wake up,’” she tearfully recounted. “He said, ‘Kiss me,’ and then he said, ‘Hug me tight.’” The next morning, Ozzy followed his established routine, heading downstairs for a brief workout despite his ongoing health challenges. “He used to get up early and say, ‘I’ve got to go down and work out,’” Sharon noted. After a 20-minute session, Ozzy passed away, leaving Sharon to discover the tragic news after hearing commotion in the house. “I heard screaming and ran downstairs,” she said. “They were trying to resuscitate him, and I told them, ‘Don’t. Leave him. He’s gone.’ I knew instantly he was gone.”
Determined to Perform
Ozzy’s death occurred just two weeks after his final concert, titled *Back to the Beginning*, which took place on July 5 in Birmingham, England. This performance marked a reunion with his original Black Sabbath bandmates and was announced as his last, following years of battling serious health issues, including Parkinson’s disease and spinal complications. Despite doctors warning him that performing could be fatal, Ozzy insisted on going ahead. “They told him, ‘If you do this show, that’s it. You’re not going to get through it,’” Sharon recalled. “But he said, ‘I’m doing it. I want to do it.’” For Ozzy, the concert was more than a farewell; it was a heartfelt message to his fans. “He just wanted it so badly — to say thank you to everyone,” Sharon expressed. “And I think he honestly did know that he was done. It was his time.”
In addition to his final performance, Sharon revealed that Ozzy had consistently kept journals throughout his life, documenting his thoughts, lyrics, and reflections. “He kept a journal every day,” she shared. “Some of them might get published. There’s so much of him in those pages.”
Ozzy Osbourne, famously known as the “Prince of Darkness,” gained fame in the 1970s as the frontman of Black Sabbath, a pioneering force in heavy metal music. He later achieved solo success with iconic songs such as *Crazy Train* and *No More Tears*, and became a household name through the MTV reality show *The Osbournes*. His passing at the age of 76 signifies the end of an era in music, yet as Sharon emphasized, his influence continues. “He was larger than life,” she reflected. “And now, he’s everywhere. In his music, in our memories — he’s still with us.”
