In a recent interview with Esquire, Ingelsby shared his enthusiasm for the series’ future, stating, “I’d love to have a chance to do another season of Task.” He elaborated on the creative opportunities that television offers compared to film, emphasizing character development as a key aspect of his writing style.

“I really see myself as a character writer and not a great plot writer,” he explained. “What I love about TV is just how many characters you get to explore.” Ingelsby noted that while movies can limit character exploration, television allows for a deeper dive into the lives of various individuals, including the Grassos, the Lizzies, and the Aleahs.

Ingelsby is also recognized for his previous work on another HBO Original, Mare of Easttown, which starred Kate Winslet. The cast of Task includes talents such as Tom Pelphrey, Emilia Jones, Fabien Frankel, Thuso Mbedu, Alison Oliver, Jamie McShane, and Sam Keeley filling key roles.
